The date is set (June 24-26, 2011)…discounted room blocks have been held (Middlebury Inn and Courtyard Marriott)…the event order has been determined…and the meet website is live (http://www.middleburymuffintops.org/LCMChamps/Default.aspx). Now it is up to you. Block the date, book your room, and start training for the Colonies Zone LCM Championships! New this year will be online entries (available soon!)

Wellesley Masters Seeking Part Time Assistant Coach

Wellesley Masters is accepting applications for a part-time assistant swim coach. Wellesley Masters (WELL) is a program for adult swimming enthusiasts who wish to improve their aquatic fitness and technique. Wellesley Masters offers comprehensive training to adult swimmers of all abilities. Our team consists of competitive swimmers, fitness swimmers, and triathletes; all of who are enthusiastic athletes. Applicants should be energetic, personable and knowledgeable. It is also essential that the individual have excellent communications skills.

The part-time assistant will take direction from the head coach and team president as well as offer ideas and input to improve and enhance the training experience of our master’s athletes. Assistant must also take initiative to expand his/her knowledge base.

Responsibilities include writing practices for their group, with provided direction and points of focus from the head coach and giving feedback to swimmers during training to improve stroke technique and efficiency. Candidate must be comfortable working with adults of all abilities and have a positive attitude. The assistant coach will also attend all scheduled team events and assigned weekend meet sessions as scheduled. Assist with other training groups as needed.

?Minimum Qualifications: Past coaching experience preferred. Certifications needed: current Masters Coach, CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications. Salary commensurate with experience. Background check required.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who completed the One Hour Swim in January. Remember, it doesn’t count if you don’t submit it to national. It’s easy – you can either mail in your results to the national coordinator or register on-line. Just go to https://www.clubassistant.com/club/meet_information.cfm?c=1308&smid=2508 for the details.
