From the moments before your race begins, to the point where you are on the wall catching your breath after the race, your brain is in complete charge of everything you do. It will decide prior to climbing on the blocks what you will achieve in the race, and it will manage the race based on how it has been trained in the period leading up to that race. The key is understanding that even though you think you’re training your body, you’re actually training your brain how to manage your body when you race. So understanding how your brain works will unlock a new paradigm of performance adaptation, and enhance your ability to achieve times you’ve never believed possible. In this lecture you will be exposed to how the brain works, how it needs to be trained, and how it will enhance your ability to take ownership over your career. This doesn’t stop at just swimming; it translates to all sports and for the most part all facets of life.

All,
As you may or may not know our mother was recently diagnosed with MDS (also known as pre-leukemia). She is in need of a stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, our mother, like many others has no matches in the current donor registry bank. Our mom needs to have a stem cell transplant in January so we are desperately trying to find her a match by the end of December. This means that we need everyone to register to become a donor today. Please help give our mom another chance at life.
We have created a website in order for you to obtain more information on our mom and the donation process. We hope you find this website helpful. Please let us know if you have any questions or need additional information. Thanks in advance for your support!

One of our NEM teammates, Win Wilson, has written a book, Good Swimming. It is primarily aimed at triathletes and competent lap swimmers. It is a fun, easy read book with a lot of information that will be helpful to any of us.
Donna de Varona did a highly complimentary Foreword, and three topnotch coaches went over the manuscript to ensure its technical veracity. The book will be available by the end of November and you can purchase a copy through Win at wwwswm@aol.com. The price is $20 plus mailing costs. Win will sign every copy he sends out.
Win has been a member of NEM dating back to 1977. He is a multi time USMS All American and National Record holder (butterfly and distance freestyle) and was a consistent contributer of articles for the NEM News “Tips For Teamates” section. Win is a member of the Brown University Athletic Hall of Fame, Rhode Island Aquatics Hall of Fame and International Scholar Athlete Hall of Fame.
