7/11 - Boston Harbor Swim
The Boston Harbor Islands Swim is a 22 mile relay style open water swim that starts and finishes at Rowes Wharf in downtown Boston. Each participant will swim in a 15 minute session (heat) approximately 4 - 6 times throughout the day. Swimmers will be assigned to a heat with swimmers of similar ability. 7am - 4pm. 7/19 - 3rd Annual Salem Harbor Swim
3rd Annual Salem Harbor Swim sponsored by the Salem Sound Coastwatch (www.salemsound.org) to be held at the Forest River Park, 98 West Ave, Salem MA on Saturday, July 19th, 2008, (rain date July 20. Registration and warm-up 9 AM. Races start at 1030 AM. Awards immediately to follow. Swimmers scored in 2 categories - Conventional Rules: Wet suits OK if water temp < 26 C (79 F) Special Maximum Velocity Rules: Fins, hand paddles, and snorkels permitted. Triangular course; Patrolled by kayakers and lifeguards. Entry fee - $30 the day of race. All swimmers must be members of US Masters Swimming or USA Swimming One day registration available.
