The Belmont Aquatic Team (BAT), a registered USA swim team with approximately 75 swimmers, is looking for an Age Group Coach for our entry-level group, which is mostly seven to ten year olds. This group trains and participates at a competitive level of swimming.

Duties include, writing workout sets, working with age group level swimmers on stroke technique, starts & turns, endurance, coordinating meet entries, attending all meets in which age group swimmers are participating, and attending team functions. Candidates should be flexible and feel comfortable working with all age groups.

This is a part-time position for approximately 6-10 hours per week on deck coaching practices plus an average of two weekends per month for swim meets.
Short Course Season availability is required for the following practice schedule:
September through Mid-March: The team practices Monday & Wednesday 4:15 pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday 6:45 pm – 8:45 pm and Friday 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm.
Long Course Season availability is required for the following practice schedule:
Mid-March through June: The team practices Monday & Wednesday 4:15 pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday and Thursday 6:45 pm – 8:45 pm and Friday 4:15 pm – 6:15 pm.
Last week of June through July: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 6:30 am – 8:30 am.
The ideal candidate should have competitive and coaching experience, stroke technique knowledge; bring enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude to each practice. CPR, First aid and Coaches Safety Training Certification will be required but can be obtained after hired. A background check will be administered.

BAT provides competitive hourly compensation. BAT provides reimbursement for training courses.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for swimmers on swim team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Coaches and instructs swimmers in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared practices and workouts accordingly.
2. Builds effective, authentic relationships with swimmers; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA.
3. Conveys information on the swim team, aquatics programs and schedules.
4. Attends practices as required.
5. Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, etc.).
6. Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
7. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.
8. Organizes and puts away needed swim team equipment. Reports damaged equipment.

5. Knowledge of the competitive strokes and techniques, competitive swimming and general water safety.

Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Coordinate the daily operations of the Masters swim, cycling and run programs. The position requires that the multisport coach define, coordinate and supervise daily workouts that will not only challenge beginners, but also promote fitness growth for more experienced multi-sport athletes. Additionally, the coach will coordinate members’ participation in swim meets, triathlon races, open water swim races, bike races, & road races.

Job Tasks (Additional Responsibilities)
1.Schedules, attends, and coaches practice sessions including swimming, biking and running programs.
2.Communicate individual training objectives directly with members.
3.Encourage athletes, of all ability levels, with positivity & support.
4.Organizes all aspects of swim meets including, but not limited to, scheduling individual race participants, creating relay teams, recording and posting times and coaching athletes to achieve competitive goals.
5.Offer skill development clinics specific to the three disciplines of triathlon.
6.Offer private lessons specific to athlete’s needs.
7.Set up and break down indoor cycling classes.
8.Develops a detailed monthly calendar of multisport activities.
9.Attends and participates in the Club’s monthly athletic committee meeting.
10.Maintains presence during team events held outside club, and on weekends.
11.Encourages and participates in the social aspects of the UClub Masters Swim and Tri teams outside of normal work hours.

SNH Fins needs coaches!

The Southern New Hampshire Swim Team is looking to hire part-time head and assistant swim coaches beginning with the upcoming 2016-2017 Short Course Season. The FINS swim team provides a program in competitive swimming for children and young adults that fosters desire, dedication, and determination; helps develop a healthy attitude about competition; and contributes to a rewarding life experience. The FINS participate in both the NH Swim Association league and the USA Swimming league.

Qualified candidates will be expected to coach various age groups from our youngest swimmers through seniors. Candidates should have at least one year of coaching experience, or a background of competitive swimming at the collegiate level. USA Coaching certification is desired but we are willing to work with the right candidates to obtain USA Swimming certification.

The ability to teach competitive basic stroke technique and a positive attitude are a must. Candidates should also be able to communicate with other staff and parents effectively and professionally. Coaches will be working in the evenings at UMass Lowell and weekend mornings at The Boys and Girls club of Nashua NH. Coaches will also be asked to coach at weekend meets as needed.

The YMCA of the North Shore SHARKS is a YMCA/USA Swim Team located on the North Shore of Boston, MA. We are a 6 site team with over 400 competitive age group swimmers from age 5 -18 of varying levels, 150 pre-competitive swimmers and over 100 Masters Swimmers.

We are currently seeking a FULL TIME HEAD COACH who meets most or all of the following criteria:

Required

  • 5 + years of experience as a head coach,
  • Well-organized with a positive and energetic leadership style
  • Great understanding of swimmer development and stroke technique
  • A “self-starter” with a strong work ethic/moral values
  • A team leader and player with excellent management skills
  • Proven oral and written communication skills

Masters Swim Coaches needed for North Shore YMCA

MASTERS SWIM TEAM COACHES

  • Status:Part time
  • Location:All YMCAs
  • Qualifications: The North Shore YMCA, with branches in Haverhill, Ipswich, Cape Ann, Beverly, Salem and Marblehead, is looking for part time Masters swim coaches. We are a competitive Masters Swim Team comprised of athletes of various levels of ability. In order to be considered for this position, you must be available a mixture of mornings and evenings Sunday through Saturday (based upon location) as well as occasional weekend meets.
  • Requirements:Candidates should have swim coaching experience, knowledge of stroke technique, the ability to write workouts, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a positive attitude. Coaches should have or be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid certifications. It is encouraged that they also possess a current Lifeguarding certification or have completed the Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches. ASCA certification and YMCA Principles of Competitive Swimming is preferred, or must be obtained during the six months of hire. Competitive swimming experience is preferred but not required.
