This years clinic will feature former Olympic gold medallist BJ Bedford Miller and National Team Coach Jonty Skinner and will focus on teaching high level stroke mechanics, goal setting, and athletic intelligence to camp participants.

Wellesley College Swimming and Diving is proud to offer this dynamic learning experience and we hope to see you in the pool on November 21st!

Later that afternoon there will be a celebrity lecture given by Jonty Skinner, noted for:

Former Performance Scientist for the USA Swimming National Team
World Class Technical Consultant for British Swimming
Owner of Athletic Intelligence Consulting
Has coached athletes to 17 Gold Medals in Olympic competition.

From the moments before your race begins, to the point where you are on the wall catching your breath after the race, your brain is in complete charge of everything you do. It will decide prior to climbing on the blocks what you will achieve in the race, and it will manage the race based on how it has been trained in the period leading up to that race. The key is understanding that even though you think you’re training your body, you’re actually training your brain how to manage your body when you race. So understanding how your brain works will unlock a new paradigm of performance adaptation, and enhance your ability to achieve times you’ve never believed possible. In this lecture you will be exposed to how the brain works, how it needs to be trained, and how it will enhance your ability to take ownership over your career. This doesn’t stop at just swimming; it translates to all sports and for the most part all facets of life.
