NEM Swimmers,
Thanks to the 200+ swimmers from as far away as Florida, the 4th Annual NE LCM Championships at Middlebury College were, again, a fantastic weekend for all. The presence of Rowdy Gaines and, swimming guru, Bill Boomer just enhanced the experience, while swimming without our hi tech suits was a humbling experience.
The results have been posted on the USMS Event Rankings web site, with most performances ranking high (not many meets so far – but who’s counting!). To see where your swim stands, go to: http://www.usms.org/comp/meets//toptimes.php . For full results, go to: http://middleburymuffintops.org/LCMChamps/Default.aspx
July 9-11th – Bay State Games (LCM) – Blodgett Pool, Cambridge, MA. The registration deadline is tomorrow, June 30th, so hurry. It is a great meet in familiar surroundings. Go to: http://www.baystategames.org/html/bsgwww/summergames/sports/mastersswimming.html
As they succeeded in keeping the pool open, there will be an LCM meet in Dover, NH on Aug. 22nd. More info on this and open water meets on our web site: http://www.swimnem.org/wordpress/meets-events/
Elaine is looking for contributions, articles and pictures, for the next issue of NEM News. Please send ASAP to Elaine Howley (nemnews@gmail.com). Thank you.
