Swimming in the Alps…

http://www.alpin-elite.com/swimming

A friend of mine, who used to swim with me at BU Masters, now lives in Switzerland and has started an adventure travel company in the alps called Alpine Elite. This summer her (Sioux Bonforte) company is hosting 6 day ($1900) or 10 day ($2400) tours around Switzerland with a morning swim each day.

Each morning they pickup you up at your hotel and take you to a different beautiful lake to swim about 3,000M. It’s not a race, and they will have safety kayaks in the water. After the swim they provide breakfast, then you can spend the day on your own. Or you can schedule activities which may include: whitewater rafting, canyoning, bungee jumping, mountain biking, skydiving, paragliding, hang gliding, tours, or whatever else you might like… (http://www.alpin-elite.com/activities_Canyoning.html). At the end of the day they provide dinner and your hotel. You will travel to the German, Italian and French areas of Switzerland by train (included). If significant others or families don’t swim, that’s fine too.

If you click on the links for the tours they include more detail.

Aside from the dates listed, Sioux has said that any group of 6 or more can schedule this trip whenever they like, rather than the specified dates (which bumps into the Timberman Triathlon!)

I’m not sure I’ll be able to do this trip, but I sure would love to and it would be fun to go as a group! If you email Sioux (info@alpin-elite.com) with any questions, just tell her you heard about it from DaveJud.

Take care and start dreaming…
Dave

PS If someone gets 5 others to go, the organizing person goes for half price! Or, if they get 9 others to go, the organizer goes for free! (Not including air fare, Boston to Zurich)
