Double congratulations to Minutemen and, in particular, to Jarrod Shoemaker, qualifying for the 2008 Olympics in the triathlon. Minutemen was also selected by USMS as the host of the 2009 5k/10k USMS Postal Championship.
If you’re thinking about going to Perth next year for the Worlds, consult our dedicated website (http://www.swimnem.org/wordpre
USMS raised their fees by $5, so our registration fee for 2008 is increasing by the same amount, to $40. You will be receiving your renewal form shortly. It can also be downloaded from the web (http://www.swimnem.org/docs

Minuteman, New England Masters’ hard-charging suburban club, has done it again. Just a few weeks after Minuteman swimmer Jarrod Shoemaker’s 2008 Olympic Berth (NEM’s first Olympian), Minuteman has more reason to celebrate. Minuteman will host the 2009 5K & 10K USMS National Postal Championship Bid. The event will take place in host pools nation-wide and will be conducted in a format similar to the famed One-Hour swim. Minuteman Coaches Rich Axtell, Nate McBride, and Sue Sotir put a package together and submitted the package to be voted on at the 2007 USMS National Convention held in San Diego, CA last week. Minuteman, a perennial trend setter, is credited with developing an efficient online registration system and t-shirt designs (thanks to McBride), for complete package design by Sotir, and technical support from Axtell. Sotir will act as primary meet director and Axtell and McBride are co-meet directors in support of Sotir.
As 2009 approaches event details will be released.
