NEM E-News - 7/17/07

The Bay State Games were held over the last weekend at Harvard. It was a great opportunity to swim another LCM meet - if you didn’t mind watching most of the 10-12 year old girls beat your time. For a $20 entry fee, you got 4 events, plus a nice jacket, T-shirt and medals for the top 3. The meet is recognized by NEM, so the times count for NEM and USMS TT and the small masters contingent present did set a few NEM records. For the results go to www.swimnem.org. I was told that as long as you are affiliated with a MA based organization (e.g. NEM) you can participate, even if you don’t live in MA. Something for next year.

GBM is hosting the final NEM LCM meet this Sunday in Dover, NH. The meet is usually over by noon and a very nice picnic, hosted by GBM, follows. Attached please find the literature for the meet or go their website: http:// www.greatbaymasters.org/gbmmeets.php

The open-water season is well underway, check the NEM website for the schedule. If you are an organizer/participant please share any info with me and/or Nate (webmaster@swimnem.org) for posting on the website.

Have a nice summer!
