VIAREGGIO, ITALY–The 3-day, 3-city, short-course Italian Grand Prix gets underway tomorrow in Viareggio. Following tomorrow’s portion in Viareggio, the meet travels to Genoa on Friday (November 10) and Travagliato on Sunday (November 12). Along with a large Italian component, entrants also are from France, the Netherlands, South Africa, Sweden, Ukraine, and USA. The meets also serve for qualifying
for Italy’s team to the 2006 Short Course Europeans, in Helsinki, Finland, in December. More information and results from the meets is available here:

VANCOUVER, CANADA–Former Paralympics swimming medalist Carla Qualtrough last weekend was elected President of the Canadian Paralympic Committee. She is a three-time bronze medalist from the
Seoul and Barcelona Games, and currently sits on the International Paralympic Committee’s Legal Committee.
